Doppler Shifts:

When an element is heated it is identified by a pattern in the colors of 
the rainbow shown by the spectograph. Each element has its own unique set 
of colors. This set of colors is spectrogram.
When an object is moving away from earth, the lines on its spectrum are
shifted toward red end of rainbow. When an object is moving towards earth,
lines are shifted toward blue end. These shifts are Doppler shifts.
