Excerpts from Jan Lubek's Quotes and Everyday Words of Wisdom Book: ====================================================================== (Most of them written & copyrighted in 2002/03) Quotes, Words of Wisdom... Wisdom (intelligence, profound knowledge at times, only sometimes accumulated knowledge), Knowledge and Intelligence go hand in hand, together... but once you are no more than are 16, you should have some life experience and knowledge what life is all about and most of all have some form of wisdom but that does not make you wiser or smarter than people of the past (especially) or of the future, it's all in the action, approach and resolution to the problem for that situation; or a group of problems in the same category, at a given time or not, in a given place, in certain, particular situations, in a given time. Being 17 or 107 does not really matter, the only thing that matters is sound judgment made on time... - Wisdom like knowledge is its own constant continuity! It must be spread & given to others to remain wisdom & knowlege! It accompanied God when he was creating the universe & multiverse! - Philosophy and psychology go hand in hand. Philosophy beggets psychology. They are connected in many ways, intertwined. First, there was philosophy and the word was made into reality, from it came everything; all the knowledge, sciences, things evolved over time from it. Both philosophy and psychology require deep thinking, analytical skills, good sound judgment, critical thinking. Both can follow scientific methods and logic is their main uniting agent, the ground they stand on. - Psychology follows philosophical pattern, logical way in terms of: Behaviorism, Cognitivism, Constructivism... Quantum theory of learning. The quantum theory builds upon the previous atomic theories. Constructivism builds upon behaviorism and cognitivism in the sense that accepts multiple perspectives and maintains that learning is a personal interpretation of the world. Psychology deals with behavior, behaving brain. It's a science or study of the thought processes and behavior of humans and other animals in their interaction with the environment. Cognitive approaches have a place in constructivism, since constructivism the concept of schema and building upon prior knowledge and experience. Perhaps the greatest difference is evaluation. In behaviorism and cognitivism, evaluation is based on meeting specific objectives, whereas in constructivism, evaluation is much more subjective. Let's say when negotiating evaluations objective evaluation should be included ? That is not behavioral and cognitive strategy a part of constructivism ? The learning theory used depends upon the learning situation, just as the atomic theory used, depends upon the learning situation. The bohr atom is ofen used to introduce the concept of protons, neutrons and electrons to students. May be behaviorism is suitable to certain basic learning situations, whereas "quantum" constructivism is better situated to advanced learning situations. So, everything is connected to each other and follows a certain (evolutionary) order. Something which is prooven to be good or corrects builds on each other, usually the concept remains unchanged. Mass psychology governs a crowd, the change of regime is a mass psychology... When somebody has to go against a political system or tradition or just be an adversary, the others will hate them because if they dont the new system or others will punish them... So nothing really has been accomplished. Human fear, peer pressure, negative influences must be eradicated/destroyed in order to find the truth. My observation with peer pressure is that people tend to act the way they do when they are associates with their group, even if it is wrong, they do not want to show they are different from others, many times doing that is wrong. Same thing happens in government with pre-emptive unilateral attacks on innocent/defenseless countries like poor Palestinians who are always pastered, attacked by Ultra Orthodox jews, prime ministers like Sharon, Olmert & especially Netanyahu. American 'coalition' invasion claimed they are better off, majority disagreed, about 20% said they were glad and better off and were glad there was no more Saddam & Baathists, many of them said that because of fear. Similar situation was before the war, but vice-versa... If you said something wrong about Saddam of Baathists, you were in trouble and you had to like them. The war itself was never justified. Same the sanctions, nothing but misery was born! :( - The only wisdom consists in knowing that you know nothingg !? In Latin: Scio Nihil Scio! -Socrates (or close to it -Jan Lubek & Wanda Nida) - Knowledge begets virtues. -Plato & Lubek - To wisdom qualities can be added: Understanding, kindnesss, attitude. -Lubek - If you know something is worth your time, spend time on iit getting back what's yours. After all, an unexamined life may not be worth living. -Lubek - Life without challenges is not really fruitful, meaningfuul, it makes no sense. -Lubek - Only motivated & examined life with set goal/s is meaninggful & worth living! -Lubek - A friend in need is a friend in deed and vice versa. What goes up must come down, the bigger they are, harder they fall, One good turn deserves another, Hard work is a lottery won, etc... A healthy mind is a healthy body, etc... - Lepszy ric niz nic, bez Boga ani do proga, kto z Bogiem, to Bog z nim - MS. Wanda Nida - Man is not free unless government is limited. As governmeent expands, liberty contracts. -Ronald Regan - Fate may choose our relatives, we choose our friends. - JJacques Delille, 1738-1813. It is not the dying for a faith that's so hard, ... it is the living up to it that's difficult. - William Makepeace Thackeray 1811-1863. Truth has no special time of its own. Its hour is now - always. - Albert Schweitzer, 1875-1965. A good listener is not only popular everywhere but after a while he gets to know something. - Wilson Mizner, 1876-1933. No sooner said than done - so acts your man of worth. - Quintus Ennius, 239-169 B.C. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. - Sextus Aurelius Propertius, 54 B.C. - A.D. 2. All excellent things are as difficult as they are rare. - Benedict Spinoza, 1632-1677. Experience keeps a dear school but fools will learn in no other. - Benjamin Franklin, 1706-1790. - Any society (USA after 911, e.g.) that would give up a liittle liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both. - Franklin - To know something, first you have to lose it? Pretty muchh! -Osho & Lubek - Tylko cierpliwosc we wszystkim ostatecznie kazda cnote uwwiencza -Lubek. - The writing of the wise are the only riches posterity cann not squander and ignore, just like history. - Walt S. Landor & L.J. - I can't please everyone with the words of wisdom of the aages, I can please the wise ones, I dont want to please the fools and wasters. If something comes on one ear and gets out on the other, the seed was not planted. If there is no hope for fools and everything has been tried, treat the scum like the scum they are, period. - The seed (of events) of tomorrows we plant today. What we make out of our lifes today is the seed for tomorrow, that is the assured prophecy, that is the future. -Lubek - Human beings would love to love infinitely (if their poinnt is understood) but human finite body does not allow many of its desires to come true, even if they want to. - Bishop Sheen - Arrogant and ignorant mankind does not pay philosophers eenough or respect them but they take so much from those words of wisdom for free not knowing how much they gained, gain and will gain from that in their lifetiems. (unless they ignorant) - Psychology... you can learn and understand it by observattion and thought alone... but Philosophy... you must learn it, experience and read a lot to get some full understanding on many different topics. There are many authors, many differences, divisions, time eras, etc... But there can only be few formulas for understanding... The one that holds for a long time and that is accepted by majority (or minority in some cases when prooven over time), when it's true to you, when it's understood by all people and cultures around the world, then it is solid. However... Nothing is perfect nor understood 100%... As time goes by ideas, systems, methods and truth behind it may change... but one thing always remains constant... The original roots philosophy came from. After all... the more you change, add on or take away from it, it leads to confusion and philosophy then loses its charm and power. A true philosopher must know how to improve it and build on it. Not to divide it or create a lie and get dead end out of it. - They say philosophy does not bring money... What ? How many people's lifes have been improved through it ? How much change did it bring to the world over centuries ? How many inovations did it create, it all sprung from it, including all the sciences. methods, systems, analysis and everything around. If case be right it differentiates between good and bad, right and wrong. In some situations life is a continuation that can be altered at any time. Some situations have no starting or ending points however some agreements no matter how impossible they may seem could be achieved. Philosophy- The Love and practice of Wisdom. The pursuit of wisdom. A search for a general understanding of values and reality by observational means, an analysis of the grounds of and concepts expressing fundamental beliefs. A theory underlying or regarding a sphere of activity or thought... as . - According to St. Albertus Magnus (Main teacher of Saint TThomas Aquinas) philosophy is either contemplative or practical. Cntemplative philosophy embraces philosophical psychology (Lubek), mathematics and metaphysics; practical (moral) philosophy is monastic (for the individual), domestic (for the family), or political (for the state or society). Excluding physics, philosophers in our times still retain the old scholastic division of philosophy into logic, metaphysics, ethics, values. - Judge nothing before the time until the Lord come, who booth will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the heart! - St. Vitalis - Out of a clean heart comes a clean life & a clean body; Out of a defiled mind proceeds a defiled life & a coppupt body. - James Allan - The First thing to go astray in war or in any life strugggle is the truth itself, then putting blame on somebody else. Excuses, Excuses, Excuses (Iraq wars)... - To say of what is that it ss not or of what is not that iit is, is false, while to say of what is that it is and of what is not that is not, is true. - The worst barbarity of war is that it forces men collectiively to commit acts against which individually they would revolt with their whole being. - Be doers of the word in deed in need and not hearers onlyy, deluding yourselves. Religions that is pure and undefiled before God is this: Love thy Neighbour (or at least tolerate and try to understand), care for orphans and widows in their affliction and keep oneself unstained by the world. - Freedom is not free. You have to win it, you have to resppect it and the respect you have to earn. It's better to live in freedom than live in slavery, it's better to die for freedom. There is a old saying: "Bolje grob nego rob... " It means Grave and death are better than being a slave. Telling other little nations what to do... Winning militarily is only a minor step... When big countries attack... morally they lost long time ago when they started the assault in the first place... They are just miserable. That's not a victory. A true victory is only when forces of more or less of an equal power meet and test their powers on the battle field. One on One. (Know your enemy) Why some nations are considered evil or rogue ? Are they ? What makes some nation think others are evil just because they are different ? Look at yourself first before you look at others... Think how they think of you and how they see you. Imposing your will on others will only backfire. Do they see you in light ? What makes you think that sanctions will change anything ? Only the innocent suffer and die but those in government dont because they have all what they need and then some... They may not care. The reason for all of that is the lack of understanding and respect for other cultures. People in charge dont spend enough time and resources understanding all sides and political implications from both sides. Ever side has it story to tell. Dont listen to the world leaders and what they have to say, they have their own political agendas that are far away from the truth. (Like the illegal war in Iraq 2003, Kosovo 1999) Do your own research. Spend some time on it too. Many leaders use partial truth to make their point, they embelish it with many colors, add to it, speak with vigor, with enthusiasm, lous and with false truth. All thru history they made it sound 100% correct and convincing. However in reality it was only 1-10% truth. (In Political Philosophy this is something I want to introduce as a very important subject. It is many times overlooked and ignored. - After a long struggle and persecution there must be a ligght at the end of a tunnel, there must be victory ahead, all the suffering will be rewararded (when the time comes). - Yasser Arafat & resistance - Roman Empire (circa 490 AD) and other empires and dynastiies fell because of selfishess, lack of respect, causing inner fighting. When there is no love and respect, negative things happen! Same counts for a friendship or relationship. In war, bad economy, like it or not, you lose something one way or the other, even if you are were never invloved in it. - Truth consists in or as part of a given society an indiviidual belongs to; especially if he/she and the majority agree and practice it (aka Ethnic Relativism). - Truth is true and relevant when it disintegrates other sttatements, attacks and counter-attacks an attack on that truth over time and if it survives and still it's true to itself over time and to the many, than it must be true. Then again, like I said... The whole world may be incorrect and only one person correct and if over time it gets some supporters and backing... that proves my points(s). Truth may change over time, it's relative (unlike moral relativism, morality/ethics must remain constant), truth to certain groups or ethnicity is not the same as to other groups/ethnicity, even in the same core. William James (pragmatic philosopher/psychologist) 'The true' to put it very briefly is the only expedient in the way of our thinking, just as 'the right' is the only expedient in the way of our behaving. According to Aristotle's corresponding theory of truth, truth is a balance between statements and facts. - Truth emergeces from facts, influences, truth is when prooven itself to be good in the way of belief. It deeps into facts, which facts again create or reveal new truth and so on indefinitely. The 'facts' themselves meanwhile are not true. They simply are (could change over time, but it's not always certain-Lubek). Truth is the function of beliefs that start and terminate among them. - What is the truth, what is the reality, what is free willl ? What's true today, may not be true or valid tomorrow. Ideas and beliefs create new ideas and beliefs based on the current and past ideas and beliefs. They crete new truths, beliefs and ideas. And the truth and reality is based on an individual. - What is truth and justice ? If you were born to a particular culture, tradition, whatever they thought them and whatever their unbringing was, that is the only relevant truth to you. And what others say or what other nations want them to do, telling them they are wrong, radical, conservative, liberal will not convince them they are wrong. (possibly because they are so blinded in their ignorance and foolishness) Only if the majority is convinced and with passage of time, if consequences of their action leaves them poorer and broken down, they may realize their way of living is wrong. Still, others should look at themselves and imagine what those they attack think of them and look at them in return, it seems to me both are weird, strange, different and possibly unacceptable to each other. That's where respect and understanding must come into the game, as I wrote about it before. - Jan Lary Lubek - TRUTH & JUTICE IS RELATIVE (RELATIVISM) TO ITS TIME & PLAACE, IT COULD BE ONE THING TODAY, ANOTHER THING TOMORROW. SO WHAT KIND OF TRUTH & JUSTICE IS IT IF IT'S IN CONSTANT FLUX? - Ignorance has no end and ignorant people have no limits. Ignorance is emptiness, is the playground for/of the fools. -Lubek George Orwell: - War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strenght. - Whoever is winning at the moment will always seem to be iinvincible. - Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls tthe present controls the past ? - If somebody reads a story in the one sided newspaper or llistens to a President before he invades a country (e.g. Iraq, Yugoslavia-Kosovo) and only hears what he has to say without necessary context, how is he, she supposed to know the facts and details without knowing the history and the necessary context of another party, country. Is she/he supposed to be influenced by one sided opinion ? And if something is taken out of context and only partial truth used, again how is that supposed to be fully informative in decision making ? May be that's only good for those who want the truth to be according to their world thus it must be one sided. - Whatever you learn in life via experience or outside schoool or from any other point of your life challenges what you learned in school or at some other place. You are assured you know better, you still learn and know a lot... No matter what subjects you took in school what you learn your way or hard way you know. 7/02 - If you want to show your point across....... you must nott only proove it with words but mostly with actions, put your money where your mouth is, otherwise all may be empty and futile. Just like faith does not work alone on words and believe; action as a catalyst, the proof is needed, it's the key element. Faith can not move the mountains without action. The effect needs the cause and vice versa. - In life each person takes a first steep of faith and towaards faith. Then a seed of faith grows and gets nurtured and finally it blossoms bringing forth a great fruit, a great fruit not only for one individual. Like a shade of a tree, it covers with its plentiful shade more than one spot. - True friendship and faith is proven only in hard times inn life, when there is doubt and fear and even persecution, if you pass that, only then you have prooven yourself. The trial of life. In those times we must be strong all the time long. - Wherever you may be, try to learn something from it, fromm every occassion and situation. And from that some good will come as well one way or the other. For you and for others. BUT I STILL ASK MYSELF... WHY DO THE BEST AND THE BEST THINGS HAVE TO GO FIRST ? Is that sad or destiny ? - Greatness comes in little things, not necessarily from thhe big ones, sports, achievements, earthly riches. Greatness comes in little things, from the heart & soul of an individual. From a smile and a kind word. - In order to understand something and know the reality of it, it's not enough just to hear or read something about it, you need to live thru it and experience it. - This earthly life is full of strange roads and curves... basically we are tourists in the realm of time getting ready for the eternity, our real home. We are all strangers. - Equilibrium in the universe is reached one way or the othher, sooner or later. Energy does not die or go away it just transforms itself into another matter, form or mass. Same with good and bad deeds in our lifes, what goes around comes around, what flies high must come down! Sooner or later! - Jan Lary Lubek - Wherever I go I learn something from it or I give some advice or (words of ) wisdom to others. In return all the good I did will eventually come back to me. Just like in nature, an equilibrium will be achieved/established. - If there is right, there is wrong, if there is happiness,, there is sorrow, if there is death, there is eternal life, must be, otherwise are we only meant for worm food ? - Experience is not the best teacher. That is a very subjecctive term. - Only with sacrifices and time well spent we can get the pproper results. ( I guess ) - Concentrate on one thing - at least.. It will give you beetter chances to succeed. Sometimes it takes even a whole lifetime to master one thing, whatever it may be... Let's say chess or checkers, painting, arts, music... - It's not always important to win but how hard you tried wwinning and how you got to the point you are at right now. How far did you go trying, did you play dirty with trickery or justly ? - Dont forget the history so the future does not forget youu, learn from it so the same mistakes dont happen again. If you dont you are bound to repeat it, only possibly worse... - Sherman Tecumseh, Union's quit but ruthless general, burnned a swath through Georgia and helped precipitate and end to that conflict. But he thereafter disdained the Republicans' perpetual entreaties that he seek the presidency, declaring that if nominated he would not run and that if elected he would not serve. - Ok... What the heck does that mean ? That makes no sense to me... - Life is changing - But always is thee same in some sense but dont be afraid to go and meet daily challenges, reach out for them and for your dreams. Nothing is impossible if you only believe. Seek, seek and you may find it. - In order to experience love or longing you must first misss it and lack it to really appreciate it. - True Wealth: When you are counting up your riches, Only tthis you can be sure of, If there's someone who will love you for who you are, Never say that you are poor! -Carice Williams - Jordan's win against Phoenix, 2/15/02: "To come through when everyone needs you to come through is great," he said. "When you feel like you can do something, go out and do it. There is no fear, there are only two things you can do. You can make it or you can miss it. Go out there and give it your best shot and walk away from it." - Believe in your dreams, reach for your goals, go for themm, dont give up no matter what, think ahead. - Detached concern creates problems, because detachement annd concern come from the mind and heart. I am concerned intelectually about the things I read, about the people I meet but I care in my heart for people I know and I do what I can to help without becoming irrational. If I feel my emotions & feelings may become so intense that they will cloud my judgment I dont seek assistance from the expensive professionals who really dont know anything ( they want some serious money for their assistance ) but from real persons like me and you... We need to help & assist each other ! Just like the world turns around, everything repeats itself in a cycle, we support each other in hard times. - Dont always comment on something or criticize if you dontt hear all the facts and opinions for and from all sides and parties involved before passing your judgment. - Greatness does not have to be always in big things, you ccan find them in little ones as well. And in little ordinary people. A smile to a lonely person is also a greatness. And it shows true character of that individual. - We all make mistakes, ( I dont ) but remember somebody's life for their good deeds and ideals, not for the bad ones. If somebody did 1000 good things and 10 bad ones they should be condemned forever because of that - 1% ??? - If you try and try and try and can't succeed, well at leaast you know you tried and it seems it was meant to be that way... Let others know what they lost sooner or later in their miserable good for nothin' self conceited lifes. -I tell it like it is. - Love is not proven by feeling good about by being good orr telling somebody how much you love him/her/it/them... Words are empty without prooving them. Love is not made stronger in happiness but in desolation. Love is never concerned about itself and as how others return or will love ( from me for my love to them ) - Love only wants to love. ( and be loved ) - By Mother Anggelica and me. - Many souls are generous but few are noble. We see the virrtue of generosity practiced often in the giving away of material possessions amd manifested in the sacrifice of time. But generosity takes on a new dimension when it involves the giving away of self. It is then that the generosity is transformed into nobility. Few souls take the step from generosity to nobility. - Mother Angelica & Sister Mary Raphael of Mary Immaculate - Wisdom is knowing what to do next. - To be successful, the first thing you do is fall in love with your work - Sister Mary Laureta - Love what you do, be motivated by it, happy with it (Lubeek)! - It's not easy and what's not easy, hard and beautiful is (very) rare (Lubek)! - You have nothing to be fear but fear itself (really?). - Do everything in modereation but right. Business first beefore pleasure. - It takes time and effort to build trust and friendship buut it only takes few seconds or wrong word to destroy it... especially for the foolish, ignorant. - Nothing is ever perfect, the most truest of friendships aand loves has its problems but you can make it better each and every day, work on it. Work on each other's mistakes. Dont lose hard earned trust for each other. It's not worth it. It may never come back no matter what you try. - People dont like when they are told what to do when they are wrong, they even want to break ties with you, that's not friendship. For what is an empty praise without backing it up... People just want to be praised even when they are all wrong... it just goes to show you how life is a big stage for drama, tragedy and comedy. - A good friendship and true love found is better than a loottery won. - Friendships are fragile things and require as much care iin handling as any other fragile and precious things. - Randolph Bourne - The most precious and rare things break up real fast, but if they dont break up and last long, they remain a jewel in the eye of the beholder, owner. - Lubek - True friendship is prooven especiallly in hard times. Nott just in the good times, because if it's good, what is there to test, what is there to go thru, what adversity is there to experience ? True friendship also knows how to forgive and forget. True friendship can at least wait in moderation. Having a good and understanding friend is like having a pot of gold, he/she is always there at the end of the rainbow. - Know thyself: True love or friendship should cover all offfenes done to you or against you and/or others. - So many people in America take many things for granted, eespecially all the kinds of freedoms, they dont cherish... and protect it... Organizations like FBI/CIA or whoever should get more power to infringe on people's freedoms. Then what will be thea meaning of freedom ? - All my experiences are part of the richness and fullness of my life. I accept all of me. Every embarrassment, mistake, hurt. I accept fully as part of my story. My story includes every success and every failure, every error and every truthful insight and all of it is valuable in ways I don't have to figure out (but know most of the time). Sometimes the painful parts of my story help other people understand their own pain. ( This quote is not mine, I dont agree fully with it, it was given to me ) - We learn from our mistakes. (or do we) (Even though I dont make them, I dont care what you think) I (we) can teach others by example.. Then again, what is a mistake in life, is it only mistake to me or to others ? Dont all things happen for a reason ? Sometimes they do, sometimes they dont... Dont think everything happens for a reason. - What is time ? Time is what we make of it... What is tomorrow is tomorrow, what was yesterday was yesterday, what will be tomorrow will be tomorrow. However, they are all part of us and they make up the present and the future time. It's never really gone. It's on the inside. In our minds and memories. The time is always now. But time is never in the present. What I just wrote it happened a second ago and now I am writing something new and you are reading it and these words are not the same as the rest you've just read a second ago. The time is neutral but it goes by so fast or may be I am wrong ? The only justice in this world that nobody can escape from is the passage of time and death. - Communication is a song of love. There is something to do. There is something to know. There is something to learn. - Experience is only a very subjective term for every occassion. Every situation is different and every day is different.Trying to find an answer thru experience may not count and/or help at all. - Fact. Experince is never complete. Every day it learns something new, something is changed; added or taken away. - True Philosopher's duty is not only to talk about stuff oothers dont understand, philosopher's duty is also teaching others about life, ethics, morality, values, family values, he, she must practice it. A philosopher should be a mentor, patron, role-model, father & mother figure to those who need some guidance in life. A friend in this cruel and very unjust world, a world filled with bunch of idiotic and selfish people. A true friend is a friend who is there for a friend in need and in deed - indeed, and vice versa. - The gem cant be polished without friction, nor man perfeccted without trials. -Chinese Proverb -If you want beautiful roses you must take its thorns alongg, it only comes as part of the full package. (Persian Proverb, revised by L.J.) - Virtue is the habit of doing good (and staying like that in it and within), The habit of morals, ethics & good. - Virtuous person is someone who is doing something of a goood nature. Virtues person is somebody who is doing something noble out of free will, not because to avoid trouble or get caught, but to create good forms ! - Chess Champ J.L. - Arrogant and ignorant mankind does not pay philosophers eenough or respect them but they take so much from those words of wisdom for free not knowing how much they gained, gain and will gain from that in their lifetiems. - Generosity: True giving and charity does not come from aa fat wallet, from what you dont need, true giving comes when you give when you dont have enough for youself. True care comes from your want - what you lack; what you sacrifice for your fellow being. - You got to know when to speak up your mind, you got to knnow when not to speak your mind. But by being quiet all the time thinking that something will solve something or that one'll get you somewhere without talking back, well you have another thing coming... Keep on dreaming. - Suffering in life is a part of life. It makes us strongerr. It enriches us for the future. It teaches us the meaning to and of life. Life without problems is impossible. We need to give a helping hand to each other. Carry each other's burdens and it this way you will fulfill the law of life... ( and Christ's messages ) Dont turn your back on it because what flies high must fly low, what goes up must come down, one good turn deserves another. Life is a circle. It all comes back. It evolves around. An equlibrium must come sooner or later. It repeats itself in one form or the other. - High School trade and trade after HS may be better coursee in life than colleges and universities, they may be a waste of time and money if there is no guarantee of a job !?! In U.S.A. by attending lots of schools, colleges and universities and private schools what good is it ? And especially with the sky high rising prices... Money goes to garbage. How come most of the schools can't provide jobs and internships ? Going alone into the jungle job market without somebody's support is like not going at all... All that you will hear ( especially a young person will ) is old fashioned crap like: " Thank you for coming sir, madam but you have no experience, we need somebody with real life experience, good luck." And I say to those people: Shame on you scum and hope all of you get what you deserve. You are responsible for the downgrade of our societies, crime, other crap and of course unemployment. You have no excuse, at 99% of you. Shame on you forever. Where should the young people ( or those who need to start from the beginning ) get their experience from ? Pick-pocketing ??? - From what I've seen & heard, I say what I think I saw & hheard but I dont analyze hearsay! - Dont let others tell you what to do.. This goes especiallly to the young people in HS & Junior High. Peer pressure is part of growing up but dont succumb to it when you know it's wrong. DO KNOW THAT IT'S ALWAYS BETTER TO SUFFER FOR THE GOOD THAN FOR THE BAD... It's better to live and exist at least once than not to exist at all... It's better than truly love once than not to love at all and I dont mean just the opposite sex. It's better to lose when it's not your fault than win when you are at fault. Don't yield to superior destructive strength or force or overpowering appeal or desire. Dont suffer for wrong... Dont... Here's a story... There were three crosses. One for Jesus and two more were for the criminals... One of the criminals chose to be with Jesus in heaven even on that day, he repented and he chose the cross of life and the other criminal chose the cross of death to the end. - Same sex marriages are bad enough but acepting and adoptiing kids by those people is even more sicker... How the hell will they ever grow up, with what kind of philosophy and ideology will they venture out in life ? Their minds will be perverted from natur and natural ways of living... They will get confused and hurt... we dont need anymore of that in this already screwed up world... Dont get me wrong... Homosexuals are not bad people. ( I guess ) I am sure many of them are fine folks... I am saying they should get some help, some education and teachings in life. I am sure some of them had or have a hard life... May be they got hurt in life, who knows... May be they lost faith, may be they lost trust in the opposite sex and the same sex gave them the happiness & satisfaction they needed. May be they came at the wrong time and it did not work out. They should not give up... Try and try again if you dont succeed the first time. That's also my motto. Get out from this illusion you are living and breaking away from the reality. - Nations that support death and abortion and euthanasia wiill fall and fail like Roman Empire did. If they dont fall they will live in their misery and will be telling themselfes everything's ducky... but it's not. They will get blinded in their own misery. Euthanasia is ok only if there is no hope and the person is on life support. Abortion should only be allowed in case of incest or rape, real rape. No exceptions. Even that is not right. But in some cases it must be allowed for the good of many. But even THAT IS RARE !!! So this should not be an issue. - Lonliness may or may not be just a state of mind... But iit surely can kill you... In life Women ( Men for the ladies... ), Alcohol, Poverty and Lonliness are the main keys to the problems in society, all lack love and respect. That's what humans lack for one another. - The reason we dont know why God has no beginning is becauuse our minds are finite, they have an end, God's mind is different, also has no beginning and no end. We are far from perfect and that's why we can't understand perfection. - If we knew everything, if we had everything, then what woould be left to do, what would be left to invent, what would be left to explore ? Why would we even need to go to work or do anything at all... That's why there are challenges and problems to solve. Trying to find an answer to something that is impossible makes no sense right now. May be it will all be revealed in due time and that's what makes life very interesting. You can't build Rome in 3 days. If we knew everything then may be we would probably die from boredom ?!! If we knew everything and all was perfect we would never need each other. - They say necessity is the mother of all inventions... Nott always. What they mean by that: Necessity is the mother of inventions for necessary stuff for survival for different conditions and life situations. - The importance of finding justice and meaning from the past is to push the humanity and/or whole country forward. Freedom is based on justice. No justice, no freedom. No freedom, no justice. Know justice, know freedom. Know freedom, know justice. A mind is more than just a mere matter, there are wars in this world because of misunderstandings between religions, traditions, culture, thinking. In order to find the peaceful solution it's important to find the middle road using some brains. To get something done somebody has to lose and/or gain something. To be successful it would be good loving each other but that is a little bit too much to ask but the key is to develop tolerance and tolerate each other. - People who use God and religion for evil purposes and to justify their war dont love God but it's the evil speaking for them and thru them. Sometimes both sides use religion to justify their actions and blame it on each other but in reality both of them may be incorrect and at fault. (A weaker nation/side usually has a stronger point and truth) - A friend in need is a friend in deed and vice versa. - Value each day and every hour you are alive and your closse ones. (family, friends) it is all a blessing. - If you think you are careful in life and there is not succh thing as being too careful, you have another thing coming... - Even if the whole world is against you that does not meann they are right, the whole world could be wrong and you can be right. And if the world disagrees with you, screw the world at least you are right/correct. - By your final deeds & actions (which come from your life work) your life work shall be known and remembered. When the story is finished and when your work brings something, only the result(s) speaks for itself. - Negative things have a way of haunting you, that scum eveen feeds of each other and builds on each other. - Assasinating a world leader or somebody important is not only wrong but it only brings out more good after his/her death, ( well not really... that depands who the leader was... ) that does not solve anything and it helps out a great deal his/hers causes(es) sooner or later. ( It may be only good when he is really way out of line, destroyed his/hers country, many people suffered, he is not popular and does not want to go away and/or his/hers death really brings good ) - Motivation is the best method to improvement and achievinng your goals. - When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Really? - There are always at least two sides to every story. - Conscience may be a part of mind and soul however body annd mind are separate but work together. Soul and consience are not the same thing. Soul comes from the heart, consience comes from both mind and soul. - It's not really that important how long do we live but whhat kind of quality life do we live and what we leave behind (good deeds), that's what counts. Time goes by pretty fast (even though it's neutral) but if you had 1000 years of life and you did not contribute... what good was it really ? - Indignation is soul's defense against the world of doubt about its own. - Chaos is found in greatest abundance wherever order is beeing sought. It always defeats order because it is better organized. ( Well may be, if it grabs the initiative and it's sudden, morally weak people will be its first victims - Lubek ) -Ly Tin Wheedle, Philosopher. - Many of our suspicions of others are aroused by what we kknow of ourselves. - What good is a beautiful song if nobody hears it, what goood is a fine painting if nobody sees it, what good is a gentle touch, if nobody feels it ? - Love is as much of an object as an obsession, everybody wwants it, everybody seeks it, but few ever achieve it, those who do will cherish it, be lost in it, and among all, never... never forget it. - Curtis Judalet - With the passage of time some words are added to the dicttionary, some taken away, some get different meanings and some who were never spoken in the past become familiar in every day use. If only they were spoken back then it would have been very surprising and sometimes shocking. - Everything evolves around the circle, especially life, thhe same old stories and teaching must be repeated every now and then, the basic things and problems of life dont change, history is teaching us something too and history also repeats itself. Experience of life can not be ignored, only improved and build upon all good and bad, bad can be turned into good. - The ideas which now pass for brilliant innovations and addvances are in fact mere revivals of ancient and old (good or bad ways) errors and a further proof of the dictum that those who are ignorant of past are condemned to repeat it. - Henry Hazlitt (Learn from the past, it's been prooven, no need to test it anymore - Lubek) - Dont be sorry later, love those you have now, anything yoou lose you lose and it will not come back later. And your excuses like: " it was meant to be, I had no time, did not know, God meant it this way..." You can go with that to the dogs and with that stupid human psychological defense... When u realize u lost something only then you know what you lost. - If I dont do something I know now, how do I know I will eexactly know about it later and how do I know there will be time for later. - Live your life well and live as if you were to die today or tomorrow. Be on guard ! Be ready, steady, go. - Remember, do what you can for those you know today becausse who knows what tomorrow may bring. - Lawyers, doctors, physicians, suregeons, cops, education facilities, property/home-realty should be put under control, esp. in America, the inequality of their value compared to others is very unjust, while they are getting rich, others are getting more poor and thus the economy becomes unstable. It's not in proportion to wage increase. Not to mention ever increasing tax hikes on properties. This is bound to create serious side effects... sooner or later. - One of the worse things in life is when your loved one iss missing and when there is no answer about him/her in a long, long time. It's most likely they are no longer alive. but if that person is missing based on the pattern that's been happening in the neighbourhood (similar crimes) and if all of a sudden murders stop that means the killer is cought or killed by somebody or he knows they are on his track, so let that give you some peace of mind and soul and if there is no body to bury just bury anything, build a memorial in the memory of that person, (or put just a marker or a headstone on a cemetery or in a park) let some good come out from every evil - from every single evil (even a minor one) let the good prevail, make it work to your advantage and to the community's. This way it will blossom and grow not just for you. The empty feeling will be replaced by a satisfied feeling. - Healthy mind=peace of mind=healthy body -LJ - There are finite and infinite causes but everything has iits beginning and ending but not everything has a final goal. If there is a cause for something that is the ending but may not be the final/finite ending. - There are three things in life you can never escape... Death, Time and Taxes, they dont stop or hurry for anyone or anything, the only justice in this world are Death and Time. - No man is born evil... But hardships of life change peoplle, it's a good inner characteristic... you must nourish it in order to grow it and keep it. Avoid weaknesses, evil and temptations. - Shortly before his death and during his last interview, Brandon Lee's words were strikingly prophetic: "Because we do not know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well; and yet everything happens only a certain number of times - and a very small number, really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, an afternoon that is so deeply a part of your life that you can't even conceive of your life without it? Perhaps four or five times more? Perhaps not even that. How many times will you watch the full moon rise, perhaps twenty? And it all seems so far and limitless." - Brandon Lee - With great power comes even greater responsibility. So a real good, smart, intelligent and understanding men and women must be leaders, true philosophers and they are almost none-existent in many societies and tribes. - Is it true that in life no matter what you believe its a mountain after a valley ? (struggles followed by bigger struggles) There are also great thrills, tragedies, happiness, sadness, emotions, experiences, goals. There is a saying: "What we do in life echos in eternity" I disagree but close, we can say: "What we did in life, will reflect us in eternity." And as far as the memory of us goes it's very feedble. As I said remember history so history does not forget you. Some times the heroes are remembered, the rest of us are forgotten even during the same generation. - If all there is to life is time passing between the womb and the tomb, it would be pointless. But all things are passing away. - Making life decisions and getting out of a problem sometiimes requires a lot of time. And if you think counceling and some expensive psychologist will help you, well you are wrong. Well... I hope he/she can help you with minor things in life but they also need to learn that the underlying cause of many of our problems is sin; s.g. Lust, Want, Demand, Money, Material things, Hate... Evil. Hey, humans are evil by nature alone but they are also rational beings, they can be above that crap. Psychologists may only help you so far but they can also blind you and root out the only hope of salvation. It's much worse getting insensitive, blind and hard of hearing. They can help temporarily but may never find a lasting solution. So, think, look and hear. Make it simple. Ger rid of crap and corruption. - Desire is the key to motivation, motivation is the key too success. Succcess will only blossom if there is committment. Success is a little bit of everything. (J.L.) - Dont judge others, so they dont judge you, if you see mistakes in others, point them out but also point out your mistakes, this way you dont claim to be perfect or innocent. (Lubek) - Dont make your decision in the heat of the moment/momentaary weakness because later on you may cool off and find out you had no idea what you did. - Dont always expect love in return (when you show it to otthers or give it all to her/him/them) but wait for it to grow in their hearts but if it does not be glad it grew in you. - It's true that we dont know what we got until we lose it,, but it's alos true that we dont know what we've been missing until it arrives. (If we are capable of seeing what's arriving, before it goes away before our eyes, noses in a dash, easy come, easy go) - The real heroes are the every day people who go about doiing their dangerous jobs. And role models. - The leader(s) a country has and elected represent their ppeople and their ways. - You think you are nice when you meet somebody and greed tthem, hey even gentiles greet each other, what's so special about that ? But when it comes to hard times you are nowhere around to do something for somebody who counts on you, then you blame him/her they are evil and not fair but it's the other way around. Dont ask why the other person is mean, ask yourself; react positively and lots more good will come out for all. - There's no such thing as too much of a good or a beautifuul thing. - The struggle of humankind against power is the struggle oof memory against forgetting. Writing in the 1970's, Milan Kundara, the great Checkoslovak writer acknowledges how events get passed over and passed by. The bloody massacre in Bangladesh, the war in the Sinai made people forget Allende, the Cambodian massacre made people forget Sinai, (Irsaeli-lead massacre, similar in 1948/67) and so on and so forth until ultimately everyone lets everything be forgetten. (Let's not forget tje Kosovo - Yugoslavian NATO terrorist lead campaign of bombing, after it was all over, nobody from NATO alliance repayed significant, economical damages) History is precious. It contains DNA of people. When it is lost ore denied, something irreplaceable occurs which diminishes us all. - True greatness is not measured by the headlines a person commmands or the wealth he or she accumulates. The inner character of a person- the undergirding moral and spiritual values and commitments is the true measure of lasting greatness. - Billy Graham - There will be opened a gateway and a road to a large and excellent science into which minds more piercing than mine shall penetrate to recesses still deeper. - Galileo Galilei - According to Aristotle, all laws are in some sense just, since any law is better than no law. (paradox) Yet to be truly just a law must be in accordance with natural justice. A problem with laws is that they need to be formulated in an intrinsic, understanding universal way and thus are not able to take into account particulars of each situation. - Judges should wake up and make up for shortcomings in thee laws by basing their decisions not necessarily on what the law actually says and its technicalities but on the reasoning behind the law and why was it made in the first place, what's the reasoning behind it, does it mean same today? -Lubek - Famous people before the late 19th century who did not reecord their voice or image on a camera they dont lose anything. Their work lives on in their lagend and their writing. We dont know what their voice sounded like (or even how they looked like) but at least this way their positive thoughts and ideas are more popular than negative ones. They can take the advantage of being less criticized and more listend to just like good old wine. They dont age but when they do, they only grow in quality and in legend. - Laziness it the source of all troubles and evil-doings. - Love begins at home. - The farther from home, the closer to heart. - Without love and wisdom you are nothing. (there are some rules to this too) - Patience and waiting are great virtues - They build stronng character and make you stronger in times of dispair and harships. (tough times) - People who dont believe dead never come back to life weree never present at somebody's quitting time (or quitting a stinking job). :) - One for all and all for one, that is true, because one iss part of the whole and the whole without one is not a whole. - Sometimes bad things happen for a reason, if a bad thingss happen, just be glad it was bad and not worst, something much worse was avoided or prevented, that could have had happened. (watch out for loop-holes, decoys and traps. -10/15/04 (I got my car booted today out of the blue) According to Kant's & Lubek's moral order statement: The notion of moral obligation is when the right actions are those that practical reason would will as universal law, that is: universally accepted. If you will continue to provide the fuel, we will provide innovations and great minds. - John Kerry 2004 - Do not overcome evil with evil but with good and negotiatting table. We proove we are servants of God by great fortitude in times of evil & suffering. - What we do for others will never hurt us (who knows), eveen if it is never acknowledged or returned. -Ole Jorgen Gjeruldsen - Evil exists, but only to get good out of it, to accentuatte goodness ? One can not exist without the other ? Is this the reality of life ? Can it be separated eventually ? At the second coming ? - Leibniz & Lubek - Being indifferent is not all bad, people are ignorant lowwlife and if they dont listen must be treated as nothing. - Lubek - Some people just see and hear it all about in reality theey dont hear nor see anything... They blinded themselfes with their greed and their gods. ( like money, luxury, earthly things ) When it's time to find out, it's too late, the grace is gone. They will just die trash they are without even knowing what they lost or could have had, so be it. - Somebody's trash is somebody's treasure. To the world you may be one person but to one person you may be the whole world. - If a man can bridge the gap between life & death, I mean,, if he can live on after he's dead, then may be he was Great person. - Dream, as if you'll live forever, Live as if you'll die ttoday. - James Dean - I guess for a choice of a better word, he's a zealot, he''s a huge, huge fan of Rocky Marciano! - Peter Marciano (he's right) - The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right besiide them knowing you can't have them. (that depands if the person u r sitting beside is a jerk) - To the living we owe respect, to the dead we owe the trutth. - Voltaire - Truth is conformity to reality, actuality. The right trutth, right time? - That which is most possible, happens most often, that whiich is least possible happens least often in life, everywhere, except in subatomic universe -Lubek! - Dictatorship fules extremism. Dictatorship feeds of extreemism and extremism feeds of dictatorship. Dictatorship needs extremist threats (and actions) to justify itself in power (thus by itself creating new form of extremism) - Pakistanian Prime Minister Bhutto in exhile when Musharaff imposed marshall law in 11/2007 - Except in algebra & trigonometry, 2 negatives make a posiitive but in real life if you notice, negative has a way of creating so much more of e negative, think... may be somebody or someone who is hurt, his negative behavior or life can only be changed thru some positive acts. (except of course if he/she is the source of the negative energy and just dont want to hear about it any changes or assistance) It's pretty interesting that for positive things, nobody gets noticed but for negative things you really can become popular fast. - When a bad tooth is pulled out, it can be replaced with aa coping or a crown and the recepient will be much happier but if you pull out a healthy tooth (regime change for example, like illegal Iraq war 2003) and try to replace it with something just as good or better, it will not happen, nothing will ever replace the original, first. - From a Dental Technician: J.L. - In life, many times there are no concrete answers, only qquestions remain, questions which produce additional questions to the question. -LJ 11/07 - Moderate Realism 1250's- A doctrine by Doctorus Universalus St. Albertus Magnus based upon the distinction of the universal idea or archetype in the mind of God existing ore capable of existing in many individuals as a concept abstracted by the mind and compared with the individuals of which it can be predicated (Known beforehand) - Difference between romance & romanticism is romance has ppoetic, emotional quality & the other exploits emotions. - If critics of USA gov are found dead in their bathrooms ((Iran hostage crisis, Wilcher's death, Bush & neocons manipulations behind Carter's back to relase hostages for arms deal) from obscure causes & the gov itself does not take steps to find out why, then our freedoms themselves are threatened, as well as activities that protect those freedoms. If individual investigation & criticism of gov activities is chilled or intimidated into silence, then democracy loses its most important protection. - Letter to attorney general Janet Reno, Dr. Garby Leon 19993 - If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is! -Jan Lubbek ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Happiness according to Lubek & Plato: - (The only) happy person it the just person, (the only) juust person is the happy (content) person (Plato & Lubek). The suffering saint is happy amid his suffering because is he ruled by reason & his soul is ordered. Happiness thus springs from inward qualities in the soul & is not dependant (it depands) on external circumstances. A person can therefore suffer externally but remain content because the internal harmony (in heart & soul) is balanced. Truly just person, whose soul is ordered is beyond tragedy & cannot be harmed (at least in the long run -LJL). Such people are leading meaningful lifes, as against the immoral ones. Plato extended his theory of the Soul to encapsulate the "perfect" government, The Republic, led by Philosopher Kings, who are just, rational, governed by reason. - The key to immortality is first living a life worth rememmbering. - Brandon Lee ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - I figure all any kid (really) needs is hope & the feelingg he/she belongs. If I could do or say anything that would give some kid that feeling I would believe I had contributed to the world. - The image is (almost everything -LJL) one thing & the humman being is another, it's very hard to live up to an image. - Elvis Presley - Fighting style is always informed by understanding of thee nature of the self, truth, rightful action. - Bruce Lee (Life is fight for survival -Lubek) -Lubek Quotes: 1984-2003 and forever By: Jan Lubek, Phd - Philosophy & Lubek Degree (WCA) World Correspondence Chess Champion; Yugoslavian Chess email champion 1999-2000; -#1 forever - 1998 - 2003. / I've invested lots of time and efforts into my endeavors above. It should be appreciated. Most of these quotes are my intellectual property. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Temu wiedzie sie dobrze, kto rozumie jakos swoich czasow (i zadow-LJL)! -Nicolo Machiaveli - That which is most possible, happens most often. That whiich is least possible happens least often in life, everywhere, possibly except in subatomic universe & multiverse, in space-time continuum -Lubek! These quotes also deal with psychology but not as much as it does with philosophy, they are both in a way connected. There is some political philosophy and psychology too. The one thing that philosophy and psychology has in commong is analysis of things, people, occurances, situations, etc... -Phil 3:13-14 Forgettin those things which are behind and rreaching forth unto those things which are before. I press towards the mark the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. By: MR. Jan Paul Lubek & MS.
